Children are building bridges where adults do not want to

Cohesion is being celebrated in the town Prijedor.

Bosnia-Herzegovina: While children celebrate the cohesion, several politicians play on disunity. Recently, hundreds of children attended a happening in the town of Prijedor.
-To create lasting peace and stability, the cohesion between people must be strengthened, says the Norwegian ambassador Guri Rusten.

Women in Brazil: “We need tools like dialogue to stay alive and healthy”

"Better collaboration is achieved by becoming more aware of the art of listening".
To create a positive change for women in Brazil has proven to be a huge challenge.

20 million women declare to have suffered some sort of violence perpetrated by men in Brazil. The organization SILO wants to use dialogue to bring voices together and strengthen communities.

Participants attending the Nansen Facilitation Training were clear on their feedback on their views on how and why this training was useful for their work. Some of them work in countries affected by conflict, such as Afghanistan, Somalia, Ukraine. Others have challenges in other non-conflict related situations in Norway or Denmark, where dialogue can be used to increase social cohesion and participation.

Poverty and drawn out conflicts motivates dialogue and development

The Nansen Center for Peace and Dialogue are working together with the Afghanistan Committee to strengthen the local capacity for dialogue and conflict management in Afghanistan. Norunn Grande recently returned after an assignment in the war-torn country. “I enjoy spending time in Afghanistan, and people are clearly happy to have us. Every time I am there, I learn something new, but it is hard to hear about the very difficult situation people are living with”, says Norunn Grande.

Keep on Talking!

Keep on talking! That is the title of an evaluation of the Nansen Dialogue Network’s initiatives and efforts in the Balkans, done by researchers at the Christian Michelsens Institute (CMI). The report is from 2008 but it is highly relevant ten years after. The Nansen Dialogue Centers in the Western Balkans are still working on inclusion, trust, and better communication, understanding and cooperation.
