Olga Zelenyuk from Ukraine was part of the Masterclass in Dialogue Facilitation
I am involved in peace-building work in Ukraine. The NGO I work in conducts dialogues, and so I was extremely interested to learn more about the Nansen method.
As a certified coach I have attended trainings on facilitation and conflict transformation. Furthermore, I have served as a co-facilitator in dialogues. My previous experience has helped me to gain a deeper understanding – I already knew the basics, and was able to learn a lot from the trainers.
I did gain a lot of new knowledge. The program was very well organised and we were able to learn many things and, more importantly, to practice what we have learned. The most important was feedback from and the personal experiences of the trainers, Ingunn and Thomas. This was invaluable as it gave a lot of perspective and many, many tips to use as well as ways to improve my facilitating skills.
The part of the course I benefited the most from was practising facilitation – I gained a lot from preparation, seeing the other students perform and hearing Ingunn’s and Thomas’ feedback.
As for the future, I am interested in taking more courses at the Nansen Center for Peace and Dialogue, and definitely recommend the Masterclass to others!
