Press Release on Extra Funding for Lillehammer Dialogue City

After the negotiations between the Norwegian government parties were completed it became clear that the NCPD receives a one time payment of 1 million NOK, allocated to completing “Lillehammer Dialogue City”.

-I am very pleased the government and KrF reached an agreement about this funding. This support is instrumental for the completion of the project. Lillehammer has every reason to be proud of the NCPD and the work they do, and this project will ensure the entire town gets a better understanding of dialogue work, says Hilde Ekebert, member of the KrF central government.

-I’d also like to point out that the WW1 commemoration ceremony is a very positive addition to the program. It’s important to remember the past and shine a torch on the stories of people who died during the war. They haven’t been forgotten. Placing this ceremony into a context focusing on dialogue and peace is a very nice touch, Ekeberg continues.

Lillehammer Dialogue City consists of a several separate events taking place from June 19th to June 24th. This means the money arrived in the nick of time. The project was initially approved – I understand the final preparations of the conference has been stressful. It would have been better if the money had been allotted earlier, but when things turned out as they did we’re extra happy to be able to solve financial issues. Now I’m just looking forward to attend the events of June 19th through 24th, Hilde Ekeberg concludes.
