Applications for the next online training in dialogue and conflict transformation are now open. We welcome everyone who is interested, April 7-11 2021!

Dialogue is a way of communicating which focuses on understanding, rather than convincing, «the others». This understanding enables us to build or rebuild relationships. This digital training is for you who is interested in exploring the potential of dialogue to transform conflicts, to prevent or deescalate conflicts by changing the way of communication, and to create coordinated efforts by using a dialogue processes.

NCPD have more than 25 years of experience with dialogue facilitation and training across the globe, amongst others in Norway, Poland, Iraq, Afghanistan, Chile, and Germany. In 2020, while COVID-19 has continued to limit our travel possibilities, we have gained extensive experience with digital dialogue trainings with participants from Syria, Iraq, Chile, Poland, US and Norway.

Learning Outcomes

• Understand the potential of dialogue to transform and prevent conflicts
• Learn different tools to analyse conflicts
• Gain awareness of how identity influences our communication
• Improve your ability to listen actively and ask good questions
• Learn about the concept of public dialogues and experience how it works

On completion of this digital training, you are qualified to attend more advanced digital and physical dialogue trainings in the future.

Methodology

This is an interactive and explorative four-days digital training. You will be guided through different topics and activities where you will share your personal experiences, give- and receive feedback, and challenge yourself personally and professionally using the principles of dialogue. We will use zoom as a digital platform and how this works technically and participatory will be explained at the beginning of the training.
